Wales

The control for the majority of public services in Wales is devolved from Westminster to the Wales Assembly Government.

Over the past 10 years a number of PFI and PPP projects have been run in Wales across most sectors, including schools (e.g. Pembroke Dock and the Conway Schools project), hospitals (e.g. Chepstow Community Hospital), prisons (HMP Parc), Council Offices (Denbighshire) and roads (e.g. A55).

Partnerships UK have been closely involved with a number of projects, notably the Neath Port Talbot Hospital, the Lloyd George Avenue/Callaghan Square development and the Newport Southern Distributor Road.

Although the Assembly has no plans at present to run a further PFI credits round, capital investment in public services remains a key objective, and new initiatives are being established to maximise the delivery of value for money.

PUK has also, under a development partnership agreement, supported the Bro Morgannwg NHS Trust with the spin out of their wound therapy business, and as an investor remains involved on the board of the new private sector company Zoobiotic Ltd
