PUK DIRECTOR TO TAKE ON KEY 2012 ROLE

09/07/2007

David Goldstone is leaving Partnerships UK (PUK) after six years as Finance Director to take up the position of Finance and Programme Director in the Government Olympic Executive (GOE) at the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.

The role is a key one and David will have significant responsibility for managing the Olympic budget from the client side and in supporting the Government’s commitment to the 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.

James Stewart, Partnerships UK Chief Executive, said:

“David has made an enormous contribution to PUK.  His experience and success in delivering major investment programmes across key health (LIFT) and schools (BSF) procurement programmes - where he established the delivery vehicles for each programme - is testament to his suitability in this key role in the management of the Olympic programme.”

David Goldstone said:

"I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at PUK and earlier in the Treasury Taskforce.  I have been very fortunate to have been able to contribute to the development of the Government’s LIFT and Building Schools for the Future programmes and to see the delivery of infrastructure projects right across the country.

“I shall greatly miss my colleagues at PUK, where there is a great team which will I am sure go from strength to strength, but I look ahead with excitement to working at GOE and helping ensure that the Games are delivered on time and on budget.”

David Goldstone will take up his new appointment in September 07.
