Training in Contract Management
The Operational Taskforce is currently in the process of selecting a partner to develop and deliver a training programme for contract managers and contract management staff of PFI/PPP programmes.
The initial plan is for a one to two day “foundation” training course covering all elements of operational contract management. These will include issues such as:
- Managing Performance and the Payment Mechanism;
- Relationship Management;
- Managing Contract Variations;
- Benchmarking/Market Testing;
- Refinancing;
- Understanding the Role of the Sub-Contract Contractors;
- Dispute Avoidance and Resolution;
Understanding the Remedies for Failures to Provide Services.
At a later date, the intention will be to expand the programme into modular form with individual half- and full-day modules on individual topics so that users can select the parts of the programme that best meet their training needs.
Full details of the course will published on the OTF website by the end of May.
Other Training
The Operational Taskforce can also provide “bespoke” training covering any operational issues. This can be tailored to suit the needs of departments, local authorities or individual projects and can consist of anything from 1-2 hour seminars up to a full day’s training session.
